How To Know Your Skin Type

I have noticed throughout the years that people buy products that are not in tune with their skin type. Putting on products that are not for your skin type is disastrous and promotes ugliness. Time and time again, I encounter people that put powder on their already dry face just because she saw a commercial advertisement featuring the powder’s beautifying properties. Determining your skin type is simple. I have been fortunate to attend a skin care seminar that addresses this issue. One just needs three sheets of blotting paper. Any brand is fine. It won’t make any difference. It’s best to clean your face first too.

Now, put one sheet on the center of your forehead. One on your nose and one on either side of your cheek. Wait for 3-5 minutes.

For those people whose blotting paper have mild to no oil marks, you have a dry skin type. For those people whose blotting paper, have noticeable oil marks on all sheets, you have oily skin. And for those people who got two sheets of mild to no oil marks and one sheet of oil mark, then you have the combination skin type. Of course, one has to be aware that age and stress do have bearing on how your skin is producing oil. So it’s not peculiar to have oily skin as you get older or during a stressful circumstance in your life. The test that I have written here is a general benchmark to guide you on what type of skin you have therefore guiding you also on what type of product you can use.
